The smell of gunpowder and the festive spirit return to San Juan Beach in Alicante with the daytime mascletà next November, the second in the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle by the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan. This time, after inaugurating the second edition with a nighttime display by Pedro Luis Sirvent, it will be the Zarzoso pyrotechnics from Castellón who will light the fuse.

This second mascletà of the new Hogueras de Alicante season will take place on November 5 in the golf course area, near Locutor Vicente Hipólito Avenue. As usual, the start of the firecracker show will begin at 2 PM.

The shooting area will turn into a racó of bonfires and barracas in the morning, thanks to a popular breakfast organized by the Federació along with the commissions of sector six. These include Alacant Golf, Avenida Costa Blanca-Entreplayas, Barrio Obrero, Els Tardons, Explanada, José Ángel Guirao, La Condomina, La Marina, Passeig de Gomis, Puente Villavieja, Racó de Festa, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, Pica i Vola, and Port d'Alacant.

The last display in the area was held in June this year, weeks before the mascletàs competition of the Hogueras de Alicante. The show was launched on Remigio Soler Avenue in Pau 5 after relocating due to criticism from animal rights activists regarding the proximity of the fireworks to a veterinary hospital located in the Cabo de la Huerta area.

This new event will bring back the warmth of the fire and the festive scents of Alicante's official celebrations to San Juan Beach, with a day of camaraderie among foguerers and barraquers attended by the belleas del foc, Belén Mora and Inés Llavador, and their dames d'honor, who will dance to the music and shout the most anticipated message by the people of Alicante: "senyor pirotècnic, pot començar la mascletà."

Mascletàs Calendar

The 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle of the Hogueras de Alicante will continue with another daytime display on December 3 in Plaza de la Estrella, near the El Corte Inglés closest to the Adif station, with the commissions and barracas of sector one. Furthermore, the fire will arrive in the most magical month of the year with the planting of a monument for the celebration of 'Fogueres i barraques en Nadal.'
